I never knew house search could turn out to be a maze, although it is not\u00a0 new to me, I guess I was lucky the last time.\u00a0 I was unable to check the website until the next day\u2026service provider was messing up. First thing on Wednesday morning, I was face to face with a website that looked too good to be true. There were houses of all types and all I had to do was call, and book for an inspection.<\/address>\n
\u00a0Bayo called the next morning which was Friday to ask if I would be available to inspect on Saturday, I agreed to meet up with him in his house with Rose on Saturday Morning. \u00a0Bayo\u2019s house is in Sabo, so we didn\u2019t spend so much time getting to the property. Allow me to use these words,clean, pay and pack in but there\u2019s always a but, so we ended up not taking the house.<\/address>\n
\u00a0<\/address>\n
All the rooms including the toilet,kitchen,store were spacious, tiled and adorned with modern fittings, we had to pay an extra N 500,000 which we agreed to pay. I had hugged my friend 3 times, before we left the apartment and on getting outside we met our reason for not taking this beautiful apartment. The landlord was in a brawl with a tenant, there was no way we could have left without finding out the cause of the brawl. ”This is the fifth time you are increasing the rent in 5 years, we have to give you 2 weeks notice before we have any function in the compound, you call stupid and impromptu meetings, and your wife does not help matters as she turns our kids into maids, now we have to keep our kids locked up”.<\/address>\n

You can leave if you want to, at least I have no rule regarding how you leave and come in, asides the curfew which is \u00a010 pm, replied the landlord. Humans have to be orderly, for them to function properly, I have friends who build their houses 2 years ago and now it is a mess, continued the landlord. That was all we needed to hear to come to our conclusion, I called Bayo to the side and I explained to him that if we become tenants in this house, my wife will kill the landlord.<\/address>\n

Three days later, Bayo called me to inform me that he was travelling to Ibadan for a job for a week. He however offered me an option. \u00a0”I know that street agents can be funny, but not all. I would send you an agency\u2019s website, I am sure you would get what you want with their outstanding team. Good luck”.<\/address>\n

I got so confused I didn\u2019t know which to book for first. I needed a second opinion, but I could not wait to get home since I was having issues browsing with my phone. I came to the conclusion that I had to call first to confirm their genuinity. After I had been attended to by the Customer Service Officer, I asked \u00a0to speak with her boss, do you blame me! I promised the young lady I will be in their office with my wife early the next morning. Rose was elated when I told her about www.wethinkhouse.com<\/a>. \u00a0At about 7 am the next morning, the landlord came knocking on our door, I rushed out on hearing his voice.<\/address>\n

”Good morning Mr landlord, please you don\u2019t have to cause a scene, we will be out of here before you know it. My wife is not aware of the last letter you dropped the other day, we both know that she would kill you if she finds out”.<\/address>\n

\u00a0”I am giving you 2 weeks more\u2026 to did what! , my wife cuts in.<\/address>\n
\u00a0<\/address>\n
\u00a0<\/address>\n
”I was just informing your husband that I am giving him 2 weeks to manage my property because I won\u2019t be around during that time” . Did that mean that you will subtracted that 2 weeks from our rent? Asked Rose. \u201cRose we need to leave now, we don\u2019t want to be late for our appointment\u201d. That\u2019s how I saved the landlord from Rose.<\/address>\n

We had to take our daughter to school, \u00a0we finally made it to wethinkhouse.com<\/a>\u00a0in Anthony by 10am. I didn\u2019t need convincing anymore, one of the request officer as they called him, took over from the CSO. He browsed through options on their website and he gave us a breakdown of these houses as well. He wrote down a list of the houses we showed in interest in and asked us when we will be available to see them. We chose Saturday, Rose blessed him with prayers before we left;<\/address>\n

After 2weeks of inspecting 10 houses which were all beautiful, we found a perfect house! 20 minutes drive to my daughter\u2019s school, 20 minutes to my office, and 45 minutes to Rose\u2019s office. Perfect is the word!<\/address>\n
