{"id":7820,"date":"2017-08-10T09:43:59","date_gmt":"2017-08-10T08:43:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tolet.com.ng\/blog\/?p=7820"},"modified":"2017-08-10T09:44:03","modified_gmt":"2017-08-10T08:44:03","slug":"n1-9-trn-property-destroyed-in-borno-by-boko-haram-fighters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/propertypro.ng\/blog\/n1-9-trn-property-destroyed-in-borno-by-boko-haram-fighters\/","title":{"rendered":"N1.9 trn Property Destroyed In Borno By Boko Haram Fighters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to <a href=\"http:\/\/thenationonlineng.net\/boko-haram-fighters-destroyed-n1-9trn-property-borno\/\">the nation<\/a>, The Borno Government on Tuesday said about one million houses and public structures were destroyed by Boko Haram insurgents in the 27 local government areas of the state.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The insurgents also destroyed properties worth over N1.9 trillion in the past six years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Resettlement, Alhaji Yerima Saleh, disclosed this at a news conference in Maiduguri.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Saleh also said the insurgents razed down 986, 453 residential homes; 5, 335 classrooms, 201 health facilities, 1, 630 water facilities and 726 power distribution stations and transformers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nHe added that 800 public structures such as offices, prisons, police posts and others were destroyed by the insurgents.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe quantum of destruction caused by insurgents is monumental resulting in a serious humanitarian crisis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe damage calls for serious intervention from government, development and humanitarian organisations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe destruction has rendered 22 out of the 27 local government council areas uninhabitable,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To mitigate the problem, the permanent secretary said the state government had established the ministry to facilitate rapid rehabilitation and resettlement of ravaged communities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Source.
