T<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: verdana,geneva,sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">he official name for the Third Mainland Bridge is <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ibrahim Babangida Bridge.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The famous 3rd Mainland Bridge is located in the vibrant city of Lagos State, Nigeria. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana,geneva,sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The bridge starts from Oworonshoki <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which is linked to the Apapa-Oshodi expressway and Lagos-Ibadan expressway <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and ends at Adeniji Adele Interchange on Lagos Island. Due to its length in kilometers, it simply means it will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes drive to cover the length of the bridge. The Eko bridge starts from Ijora on the Lagos mainland and ends at the Apongbon area of Lagos Island. The lagoon section of the bridge spans a distance of 430 metres. The bridge was constructed in phases between 1965 and 1975. It serves as the access point for vehicles approaching Lagos Island from the Apapa and Surulere areas of Lagos mainland. At the time of its construction, this was the only bridge connection between the mainland and Lagos Island. The bridge starts from Iddo on the Lagos mainland and ends at the Idumota area of Lagos Island. After independence, the \u00a0Carter bridge was dismantled and redesigned during the late 1970s. The bridge was commissioned on 29th May 2013.
