Jibowu
Jibowu is majorly a commercial area dominated by so many transport businesses as it is one of the common hubs for travelers in Lagos, especially interstate travel. Thus, it is not strange to see people coming from the north or going to the east in this axis. There are many transport companies in Jibowu. Some of them are; Ekene Dili Chukwu Transport Company, G.U.O. Transport, Chisco Transport Company, Delta Line Courier Services, CN Okoli Transport, and God is Good Motors.
Yaba College of Technology, one of the nation’s most renowned Polytechnics, is located in Jibowu. WAEC (West African Examination Council) office is also located at Jibowu. There are also many schools in Jibowu – a popular school here is the Heritage House Montessori School. The road network in Jibowu is good and the power supply is fair. There tends to be little traffic on the axis due to the influx of travellers. Religious worship centres within Jibowu include Covenant Christian Centre, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and other mosques.

THE MARKET
A lot of roadside shops and street hawkers that can be patronised as there is no central market in Jibowu. The hawkers go close to the vehicles to sell to travellers before the vehicle takes off. The central Yaba Market can also serve the residents of this area as it is quite close by.
THE LIFESTYLE
Jibowu is a popular place in Lagos that attracts a good number of individuals, mostly travelers, from inside and outside Lagos. Traffic in the area is mostly as a result of the arrival of travelers and commuters during peak hours especially through Ikorodu road. Transportation system in the area is through commercial buses, private cars, tricycles (Keke Maruwa) and motorbikes (Okada).
WHAT TO EXPECT
Jibowu comes with tarred roads as well as a serene environment irrespective of the influx of travelers going in and out of the area, it also links to other routes such as Ikorodu road and Yaba bus stop through the bus terminal overhead link bridge. There are only a few residential spheres in Jibowu as the area majorly hosts commercial and corporate activities. Asides well known transport companies such as God is God Motors, ABC Transport Terminal, Young Shall Grow, there are lots of roadside transporters in the area with one or two buses parked along the road, hailing for passengers as different people walk by. Some go as far as dragging travelers bags even without confirming their destination.
THE NEIGHBOURS
Jibowu is an area in Yaba, Lagos, it is in proximity to Lagos Island and serves as an alternative road for those heading there, it is about 33 minutes away from Victoria Island and 29 minutes from Ikoyi. Expect to see marketers, travel agents, undergraduates, travelers with a few residents in the Jibowu environ. There are a good number of marketers that work with the travel agencies in Jibowu. Thus, it is not strange for people to meet with them, especially those carrying big bags and boxes. Since it is a commercial area, there are very few residents here. It is, however, the hub of undergraduates and travelers coming to Lagos or leaving Lagos.
